Man arrested over killing father for Tk 2,000 in Pabna
A man was arrested yesterday over killing his father a few weeks ago over borrowing of Tk 2,000 and not being able to return it in Pabna.
The accused Abdur Rahim (43) of Horipur village in Ataikula of Pabna was arrested from Dhaka, said Md Jalal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station, reports our Pabna correspondent.
He was sent to jail after confessing to killing his father at the Pabna Judicial Magistrate Court today, said the OC.
"Abdur Rahim borrowed Tk 2,000 from his father Ahez Pramanik and did not return it. An argument broke out between the two regarding the money which led to Abdur Rahim critically injuring his father with a bamboo stick on April 22. Ahez died on the same day on the way to the hospital," OC Jalal added.
The accused went into hiding after the victim's brother Abdul Awal filed a case with Ataikula Police Station on April 23.
