Graft case: PK Halder’s aide Abantika sent to jail after remand
A Dhaka court today sent Abantika Boral, an aide to PK Halder, to jail on expiry of her three-day remand in connection with a graft case.
Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of Senior Special Judge's Court of Dhaka passed the order after Md Salahuddin, a deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Commission and also the investigation officer of the case, produced her before it.
In the forwarding report, the IO said Abantika gave important information about money laundering which was being verified. So, he appealed to the court to confine her in jail until the investigation is completed, the IO added.
No lawyer stood to defend her in court.
Earlier on January 13, a team of ACC arrested her from the capital's Dhanmondi area and she was later placed on a three-day remand after being produced before a Dhaka court.
