BSF man injured in attack by gang ‘trying to smuggle phensedyl to Bangladesh’
A BSF Jawan was injured in a gang attack when at least 20 miscreants were trying to smuggle a consignment of banned phensedyl cough syrup to Bangladesh via Malda district of West Bengal today.
A BSF patrolling team intercepted the gang near Shobhapur outpost in Malda at around 1 am local time, following which the miscreants attacked the BSF personnel with sharp weapons and sticks, triggering an encounter.
Two smugglers were injured in the encounter, a BSF statement said, adding one BSF guard was also wounded.
The smugglers fled the place, leaving behind 145 bottles of the banned drug worth Rs 27,064.
