Court allows release of domestic help Sumi
A juvenile court in Dhaka yesterday allowed the jail authorities to release domestic help Khadiza Akter Sumi, who allegedly assisted Oishee Rahman in killing her parents last August.
The court passed the order after Sumi's mother Saleha Begum promised to pay Tk 20,000 in bail bond.
Sumi is now in Kashimpur Juvenile Development Centre, court sources said.
The same court on May 20 framed charge against Sumi, 11, and granted her bail after her lawyer submitted a petition in this regard.
The bodies of Oishee's parents, Special Branch of Police Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Rahman, were found at their Chamelibagh residence in the capital on August 16 last year.
