Woman murdered

A woman was found murdered at Gojkhali village in Barguna's Amtali upazila yesterday.

The victim was Banasree Mistree, 25, wife of Palash Hawlader of the village. She was the mother of a three-year-old boy.

Palash went into hiding after the incident, said Md Alauddin Milon, OC of Amtali Police Station.

Banasree, daughter of Sushil Chandra Mistree of Patuakhali, married Palash in 2012, police and family sources said.

Palash got married again some days ago that angered Banasree. Over the issue, a village arbitration was scheduled to be held today but Banasree's hanging body was found at her husband's house yesterday.

Police sent the body to Barguna General Hospital and action will be taken after getting the autopsy report, said the OC.

The victim's father claimed that Palash killed his daughter and hung the body with a scarf.
