Woman kills husband for protesting her extramarital affair

A woman allegedly slit the throat of her husband as he protested her extramarital relationship with a neighbour at Sahapara in Sadullapur upazila of the district on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Binoy Saha, 36, of the area.

Police said Shangkori Rani, wife of Binoy, had an extra-marital relationship with her neighbour Sufal Chandra Saha. Binoy had earlier warned Sufal to end the relationship.

Shangkori Rani and Sufal killed Binoy by slitting his throat when he went out of the house to respond to the call of nature at about 11:00pm.

Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police arrested Shangkori Rani from the spot while Sufal managed to flee the scene.

Contacted, Farhad Imrul Kayes, officer-in-charge of Sadullapur Police Station, said law enforcers have launched a drive to arrest Sufal.
