Woman, baby girl murdered

The bodies of a woman aged about 26 and a baby girl aged around 18 months were found floating yesterday in the Rangar river under Bochaganj upazila in the district.

Identities of the dead could not be known immediately after the recovery.

Police said the dead might have been mother and her daughter.

The people of Sadamahal village in the upazila found the bodies in the river while they were fishing at noon and informed the police. Police sent the bodies to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Quoting locals, police said the victims might have been thrown into the river after killing them elsewhere.
