Two Rangpur BNP leaders, JCD man sent to jail

A Rangpur court yesterday sent two local leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and another of its student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) to jail, rejecting their bail prayers in connection with the cases filed in 2014.

The accused are Samsuzzaman Samu, former general secretary of Mohanagar BNP, Anisuzzman Laku, former organising secretary of the same unit, and Shahidul Islam Shahid, former assistant general secretary of the district unit of JCD.

They are accused in at least 12 separate cases filed with Sadar Police Station in 2014.

Judge Chand Mohammad Alim Al Razi of Additional District and Sessions Judges Court-1 passed the order when the three surrendered before the court yesterday and sent them to jail.
