Two girls raped in Thakurgaon, B'baria
Two girls, including a five-year-old, were raped allegedly by boyfriend and neighbour in Thakurgaon and Brahmanbaria on Tuesday and the day before.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent reported that a schoolgirl was raped allegedly by her boyfriend in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh on Monday night.
Victim's elder brother filed a rape case with Sadar Police Station on Wednesday accusing Anarul Islam, 28, son of Habibar Rahman of Shaldanga village, and his associate Shafiqul.
According to the case statement, the girl, a Class VIII student of a local high school at Chaklahat village in Panchagarh Sadar upazila, developed a relationship with Anarul over mobile phone a couple of months ago.
On Monday night, Anarul lured the girl out of her house, promising to marry her, and took her near Shaldanga Tulshi Sah Shrine on a motorbike.
The culprit later raped the girl on the bank of Karatoya river and left the place, saying he will return soon with money and some clothes.
The following morning, local people rescued her and informed her family, who brought the girl back to her home the same day.
Inspector (operation) of Sadar Police Station Ranju Ahmed said victim's medical test was done yesterday and they were trying to arrest the culprits.
Away in Brahmanbaria, a five-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a neighbour at Latuamora village in Kasba upazila on Tuesday.
The severely injured victim is now undergoing treatment at Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital.
Father of the victim Moniruzzaman Selim alleged that as a sequel to previous enmity, their neighbour Kawsar, 19, son of Mosharraf Hossain Babul, lured the girl out of the house and took her to a nearby under construction building and raped her.
Hearing screams, mother of the minor girl rushed to the spot and rescued her but Kawsar fled the scene.
Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Kasba Police Station Mrinal Debnath said the visited the area and action will be taken after filing of a case in this regard.
