Two children raped: 2 men arrested

Two children were raped in Pirojpur and Bandarban.

Police arrested a young man on charge of raping a five-year-old girl in Kawkhali upazila of Pirojpur on Sunday, reports our correspondent.

The arrestee is Faizul Islam, 25, of Nangguli village in the upazila.

Police said Faizul took the girl to a nearby abandoned house while she was playing there and raped her in the afternoon.

Following a case filed by the victim's father, police arrested Faizul at night, said Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kawkhali PS.

The arrestee was produced before Pirojpur Judge's Court that sent him to jail yesterday.

The girl was sent to the civil surgeon's office for medical test, said the OC.

Meanwhile, a man was arrested the same day on charge of raping a minor indigenous schoolgirl in Sadar upazila, reports our Bandarban correspondent.

The victim is a Class I student of a local primary school.

OC Rafiq Ullah of Bandarban Police Station said Niten Chakma, 32, who used to live in a sublet room of the girl's house, raped her when she was alone at the house around 1:00pm on Thursday.
