Two AL men hacked to death
Two Awami League men among four people have been hacked to death in Noakhali and Rangpur districts.
Criminals killed an activist of Jubo League at Chayani-Tagba in Chatkhil municipality of Noakhali yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The deceased is Tarek Hossain Swapan, 25, member of the municipality unit of Jubo League, and son of Siddique Ullah of Jamader Bari of the area.
Md Nasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Chatkhil Police Station, said a gang of 4/5, allegedly led by one Robin, hacked Tarek when he was asleep at his room around 11:00am.
Critically injured Tarek was rushed to Chatkhil Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
In Rangpur, Sadrul Islam, 45, a man of local AL, was killed in Damurchakla Bazar area under Itakumari union of Pirgachha upazila in the district on Friday, reports our correspondent.
Police said a gang of 4/5 equipped with sharp weapons attacked Sadrul of Damurchakla village, leaving him dead on the spot when he along with his associate riding a motorbike was returning home from Kaliganj Bazar in the area at night.
Locals and family sources said there was a longstanding conflict between Sadrul and one Asaduzzaman Raju of the village over ownership of MM Bricks in the area.
On September 8 last year, a gang killed Khairul Islam, 35, cousin of Raju, over the issue.
Sadrul was the prime accused in the murder case filed with Pirgachha Police Station.
