Two abducted sisters still traceless
Two sisters, who went missing on August 29 from near their house in Islambag powerhouse area under Saidpur Municipality, have not been found as yet.
They were allegedly abducted by a local youth and his accomplices.

The victims' elder brother filed a general diary with Saidpur Police Station on September 3, accusing the suspects, but no visible steps have been taken, the victims' family members alleged.
“Shakil Islam Babu, son of neighbour Latif Molla, had been making illicit proposals to one of my sisters,” the brother said.
“As she declined, the accused became furious and he, along with three to four others, stormed their house on May 5 and assaulted him and the sister, leaving them injured,” he added.
The siblings were admitted to Saidpur 100-bed hospital on the same night. Rubel was later referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as his injury was serious.
On returning home, he went to lodge a case with Saidpur Police Station but police did not accept it.
“My injured sister herself filed a case in a Nilphamari court on May 21, accusing Shakil and two others,” hesaid.
The court accepted the case and directed the OC of the police station to record it. Accordingly, the OC recorded the case on June 22 and ordered Sub-Inspector Dilip Kumar to investigate the matter.
“After getting bail from court, the accused again intruded into our house on August 2 and pressed my sister to withdraw the case, which she refused. Shakil assaulted her and threatened her of dire consequences,” the brother said.
“Shakil and his accomplices abducted my two sisters,” he said.
His sisters have remained traceless for 25 days and none of the accused has been arrested yet due to inactivity of the police, he alleged.
“Investigation is on, but the main accused Shakil has gone into hiding. We will be able to get important information for recovering the abducted girls when we arrest him,” OC of Saidpur Police Station Amirul Islam said.
