Tortured kid rescued at rly station

A 5-year-old boy was rescued from Joypurhat railway station platform on Tuesday night.

The boy, Omar Faruk Nayan, told police that his parents are Rubel Hossain and Fatema Begum of Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur, but he could not tell the name of his village, police said.

Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Hossain said the boy was crying in a corner of the platform in Joypurhat station when some people saw him and informed the police, who took him to the police station.

They found torture marks on Nayan's body and he was treated at Joypurhat Modern Hospital, the OC said.

Police suspect that a gang of human traffickers picked up the boy, but left him at the station.

The boy is now staying at Joypurhat Sadar Police Station.
