The Murari Chand (MC) College authorities in Sylhet have asked its students to vacate their halls by this evening after miscreants vandalised three blocks of the boys’ dormitory.

At least five students were injured during the incident and have been given primary treatment, our correspondent reports from the spot.

A three-member probe body led by Professor Abdul Kuddus of Department of Economics has been formed in this regard, the correspondent reports quoting the principle of the college, Professor Nitai Chandra Chanda.

“Students have been asked to vacate the residential hall by 6:00pm today following an attack by unknown miscreants,” the principle said while talking to reporters outside the MC College around noon.

The miscreants vandalised block 4 and 5 and block Sri Kanta around 10:00am injuring five students, Anwarul Alam, officer-in-charge of Shah Poran Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Police is looking into the matter, the OC further said.
