Stolen baby rescued in Joypurhat
A three-month-old baby was rescued from Sabujnagar area in Joypurhat town yesterday, a day after she was stolen from a clinic.
Police arrested one Murshida Begum, 34, wife of Imran Ali of Panchbibi upazila, in this connection.
Murshida claimed that she bought the baby girl from her father paying Tk 4,000, said OC Farid Hossain of Joypuraht Sadar Police Station (PS).
The victim's parents Bazlur Rashid and Joynab Begum of Naogaon said on Sunday morning, when they came to Joypurhat Modern Hospital with their girl suffering from oral problem, a woman wearing a veil lured them with free treatment at Padma Clinic.
On their arrival at the clinic, the woman took away the baby from her mother's lap, started walking and within a moment, she disappeared, said Bazlur.
