Schoolboy killed over cricket brawl

A schoolboy, injured during a clash between two groups of youths centring a cricket match at Saheprotap of Narsingdi town on Sunday, died at  Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.

The victim was Mehedi Hasan, 16, son of Sultan Uddin of Baghata village in Sadar upazila.

On Sunday, a boy was hit by a cricket ball while some local boys were playing cricket, which led to a clash  with sharp weapons on Monday, leaving eight people including Mehedi injured, said Inspector Mozaffar Hossain of Narsingdi Model Police Station.
