Caab bans Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on flights
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) today prohibited passengers from carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone on board all flights due to the passengers' safety after numerous international reports of the devices catching fire.
"Considering our passengers' safety, we are requesting all not to carry Galaxy Note 7 smartphone while travelling on board an aircraft," AKM Rezaul Karim, public relation officer of Caab, told The Daily Star.
Caab, the regulatory body for all aviation related activities in Bangladesh, issued a circular in this regard today.

Due to some recent incidents involving battery of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, Caab is prohibiting the carriage of the smartphone on board an aircraft, the circular read.
"No passenger is allowed to board an aircraft with Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as carry–on and/or checked luggage," it added.
The circular will come into effect immediately.
Earlier, various airlines from different countries banned passengers from using or carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in airlines.
