Rangpur boy missing from Dhaka for seven days
A boy from Rangpur went missing from capital Dhaka on July 11.
The missing boy, Md Mamun Mia, 20, son of Nurul Islam of Shibtari village under Pirganj upazila of Rangpur, passed the HSC examinations this year from Abdur Rouf College.
Mamun's elder brother Saddam Hossain filed a general diary with Tejgaon Police Station in Dhaka on July 12 in this regard.
Mamun had been in Dhaka since he enrolled with a coaching centre to prepare for admission at a university.
Mamun's mother Mazeda Begum said her son went missing while returning to his rented residence at Sewrapara from Farmgate on July 11 around 1:30pm.
“It has been seven days and we are yet to know his whereabouts,” Mazeda said. Police are not so serious about investigating the incident, she added.
A human chain was formed in front of Rangpur Press Club on Monday, demanding his immediate rescue. They also handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Inspector General of Rangpur police.
