Railway engineer held while ‘taking bribe’
Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday arrested an engineer of Bangladesh Railway (Kulaura Section) when he was allegedly taking bribe.
Acting on information, a five-member team of ACC arrested Mohammad Erfaunur Rahman, senior assistant engineer of the railway, from the stationmaster’s room at Kulaura Railway Station at 8:00pm last night, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports quoting Deputy Director Moloy Shaha of ACC Habiganj office.
Erfanur was caught red-handed while accepting Tk 10,000 from Abul Hosen, a railway staff (wayman), Moloy said.
He was handed over to the Kulaura Railway Police Station yesterday, said Abdul Malek, officer-in-charge of local police station.
Erfanur joined the in this post five years back, according to sources.
