Police need specialised training: IGP
Police need specialised training to tackle terror attacks, hostage taking and militancy.
Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque said this while inaugurating the APBN specialised training centre at Pankhaiapara in the district town yesterday. It is the first specialised training centre of police in Bangladesh.
Forty-five police personnel, including three assistant superintendents of police, will be trained in the first batch of Police Commando Course. The trained personnel be will deployed in Rangpur or Khulna division.
Deputy Inspector General of police in Chittagong Range Shafiqul Islam spoke at the programme, among others.
