One held over BCL leader Sudipto murder

Police detained a man in Chittagong city early today in connection with the murder of Bangladesh Chhatra League leader Sudipto Biswas.

A team of Sadarghat Police Station launched a drive in Boropool area of the port city and detained Mukter, Assistant Commissioner Jahangir Alam of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (Kotwali Circle), told The Daily Star.

Sudipto Biswas, 28, BCL assistant general secretary of Chittagong unit, was beaten to death near his home at South Nalapara in the city on October 6. Police said an intra-party feud might be the reason behind the murder.

On October 7, Sudipto’s father Babul Biswas filed a case with Sadarghat Police Station against seven to eight unknown people in this connection.
