UNO receives threat from hill plunderer, files general diary
Bandarban Sadar Upazilla Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Noman Hossain on Tuesday received threat from an illegal hill cutter.
The UNO filed a general diary (GD) with Sadar Police Station in this regard the same day.
In the GD, the UNO said “Someone called me on my cellphone around 4:56pm and introduced himself as Kazi Mohtul Hossain. He told me to cut his name as a hill cutter from a report which we sent to the Chattogram regional office of Department of Environment on April 23 after investigation.”
“Mohtul threatened me and also misbehaved,” said the UNO, adding that he informed the higher authorities about the matter.
Refuting the allegation, Mohtul said he did not cut any hill but the UNO mentioned his name in a report as a hill cutter.
Durjoy Biswas, sub-inspector of the police station, said steps will be taken after investigation.
