Frustrated over their families decision two teenagers, who were in a relationship, took their own lives by taking poison at Tungibaria village in Rangabali upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased, Rajib, 18, son of Zahir Pada of Tungibaria village, and Rabeya, 15, daughter of Ripon Hawladar of the village, were both Class IX students at local Katakhali Secondary School.
Victims' family sources said an affair developed between the two a few months ago and when the matter came to light both the families refused to accept their relationship.
Aggrieved by their families' decision, the duo met at a secluded place at the village on Tuesday evening and took poison there.
Local people spotted their unconscious bodies and took them to Kalapara Upazila Health Complex by a trawler, where the doctors declared them dead.
