Two with respiratory problems die in Barishal
Two people with coronavirus-like symptoms died today at the isolation unit of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) in Barishal.
The deceased are a 72-year-old man, who died tonight, and a 40-year-old woman who passed away this morning, said Dr Bakir Hossain, SBMCH director.
The elderly man, hailing from Fultola village in Betagi upazila of Barguna, was admitted at SBMCH yesterday noon with respiratory problem, said Dr Bakir.
His samples were collected to be tested for coronavirus infection after he died, said the director.
The woman was first taken to Kalapara General Hospital recently as she was suffering from cough, fever and breathing problems.
As her physical condition deteriorated yesterday, she was shifted to the isolation unit of SBMCH where she died this morning, the director said.
Samples were collected from her body and sent to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College's coronavirus testing lab under the Microbiology Department.
Her family members were asked to remain in quarantine, added the doctor.
