Two women killed by lightning in Brahmanbaria

Two women were killed by a lightning strike at a village in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Sweety Akhter, 30, wife of Monir Hossain, and Khuki Akhter, 25, wife of Sarwar Hossain of Kajiatali village in the upazila, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports quoting police.

Lokman Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station, said Sweety and Khuki were struck by lightning while they were boiling paddy outside their house around 3:45pm during the rain.

The injured were rushed to Kasba Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead, added the OC.
