Trader killed

Police recovered the body of a footwear trader from Mithapur village in Sadar upazila yesterday.

The deceased, Mamun Hawladar, 38, owner of Naz Shoes at New Market in the town, was son of Sohrab Hawladar of the village.

Quoting locals and victim's family members, police said Mamun went out of his house after receiving a phone call on Wednesday evening.

After finding his mobile phone switched-off till 11:00pm, family members searched him in every possible places till midnight, but failed to know his whereabouts.

Locals spotted his body lying in an abandoned field near his house around 6:00am yesterday and informed the police.

Being informed, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Patuakhali General Hospital for autopsy, Officer in Charge of Sadar Police Station Akhter Morshed said.
