Three held with yaba, Phensedyl

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-13) on Monday night arrested three drug peddlers and seized 577 yaba pills and 100 bottles of Phensedyl from their possession in Birampur upazila of the district.

Rab-13 identified the arrestees as Zahirul Islam, 31, and Kamruzzaman Kamu, 35, of Birampur upazila, and Sohel Rana, 29, from Ishwarpur village in Rangpur's Sadar upazila.

Acting on a tip off, a team of Crime Prevention Camp-1 (CPC-1) from Rab-13 in Rangpur confiscated the contraband items and arrested the three during a raid near Chawkdurga Bhelarpara Government Primary School in the upazila, said CPC-1 Commanding Officer Major Masud Rana Prince.

The arrestees were handed over to Birampur police, he added.
