Students' cabinet polls held
The students' cabinet elections were held at different government, non-government secondary schools and madrasas in the hill district yesterday, amid joyful atmosphere.
The voting continued from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
A three-member election committee, including presiding officer and polling officer, were appointed from the students while their teachers helped them in the process.
Chief Election Commissioner Nizam Uddin, a Class X student of Khagrachhari Government High School, said 61 candidates were vying for 16 posts.
The school cabinet election will help develop democratic values and leadership qualities among the children, said Khagrachhari Government High School Headmaster Shreela Talukdar.
