SSC examinee’s father dies in exam centre at Brahmanbaria
The father of a candidate in the upcoming Secondary School Certificate examination today died and an SSC candidate was injured as part of the gate of an exam centre collapsed and fell on them in Brahmanbaria.
The dead was identified as Khorshed Alam, 68, of Moktarampur village under Nabinagar upazila. His son is an SSC examinee from Salimganj ARM High School in the upazila, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting police.
The incident took place in front of Salimganj Girls’ High School where Khorshed went to see his son’s seat plan in the SSC exams scheduled to begin tomorrow, Ranajit Roy, officer-in-charge of Nabinagar Police Station, said quoting witnesses.
A few examinees had climbed on the gate of the school to check their seat plans when the top part of it collapsed and fell on Khorshed standing there, leaving him dead on the spot, the OC said.
An SSC examinee, Rasel Mia, of Raipura upazila in Narsingdi district, also sustained injuries in the incident and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment, the official added.
