SI dies with coronavirus-like symptoms in Chattogram

A sub-inspector of Chattogram District Police died today at Chattogram General Hospital with coronavirus-like symptoms including fever and breathing problems.

The deceased, SI Md Jahangir Alam (50) of Special Armed Forces (SAF) in Chattogram District Police, was suffering from fever and was quarantined at Dampara Divisional Police Line Hospital yesterday after his condition deteriorated, said Mohiuddin Sohel, additional superintendent of police (DSB) of the district police.

Later, he was shifted to Chattogram General Hospital yesterday night as his condition worsened further and he passed away at 10:30am this morning, ASP Mohiuddin added.

Samples were later collected from the deceased for Covid-19 test, police officials said.
