Police arrested a local leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir in Kalihati upazila of the district on Tuesday. The arrestee is Abdullah-al-Mamun, 30, former president of Tangail district unit of Shibir, and son of late Hazrat Ali of Sar Palshia village in Bhuapur upazila. He is an accused in two cases filed with Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station, said Mohammad Akhteruzzaman, officer-in-charge of the PS. Mamun remained absconding for long, said the OC.
