Saudi plane makes emergency landing at Dhaka airport
An aircraft of Saudi Arabian Airlines made an emergency landing at the Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport today due to technical glitch.
The 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft was operating flight SV885 from Guangzhou to Riyadh, landed at the airport around 6:10pm due to the technical glitch in one of its engines.
The aircraft’s number 2 engine, a GEnx-1B, had to be shutdown (suspecting a failure) over Myanmar airspace, said an official of the HSIA.
All the 299 passengers and crews are safe, the official said.
