Rohingya woman beaten dead in Cox’s Bazar camp
A Rohingya woman was beaten to death by two others in their camp at Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar today.
The deceased, Nur Nahar (40), was wife of Nur Alam, a resident of Leda Rohingya camp (Block- B) in Hnila union, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent.
According to witnesses, Nahar got into an altercation with two other Rohingya woman -- Ferdousi and Al Marijan -- over a trivial matter.
At one stage, the duo beat up Nahar, leaving her critically injured.
She was taken to the camp hospital run by International Organisation for Migration where doctors declared her dead.
Contacted, ABMS Doha, inspector (investigation) of Teknaf Police Station, said the body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police are looking into the matter, the OC added.
