Road crashes kill 6 in Rangpur, Sirajganj
At least six people were killed and seven injured in two separate road accidents in Rangpur and Sirajganj this morning.
Among the deceased, four were killed in Rangpur road accident while two in Sirajganj.
In Rangpur, a bus hit a battery-run human hauler at Lahirirhat in Sadar upazila around 9:00am, killing its three passengers on the spot, our Dinajpur correspondent reports quoting police.
Two injured persons were whisked off to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where one succumbed to his injuries.
Police identified two of the deceased as Md Jahangir Hossain, 30, and Shamim Hossain, 32, of Sirajganj Sadar upazila.
In Sirajganj, two people were killed and five injured as a pick-up van hit them on Dhaka-Sirajganj highway near Bangabandhu bridge around 7:00am.
The deceased were identified as Jahangir and Shamim, said Sayed Sahid Alam, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge (west zone) Police Station.
The injured were admitted to Sirajganj Medical College Hospital.
