Road crash kills four in Kishoreganj

At least four people were killed and 11 others injured following a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Kishoreganj-Bhairab road in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj today.

One of the victims was identified as Barek Mia, son of Lashkar Mia of Austaborga village in Kishoreganj Sadar upazila, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

Quoting locals, Sub-Inspector of Katiadi Highway Police Johirul Islam said a Bhairab-bound bus collided head on with an oncoming truck on the road at Gangkulpara around 6.30pm, leaving some 15 bus passengers injured.

They were first taken to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared two dead, he said.

The other injured persons including two police constables were referred to Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital of the district where two others succumbed to their injuries, added the police official.
