Bangladesh Railway (BR) authorities in a drive on Monday recovered three acres of railway land from illegal occupiers near Akhaura Rail Station.
The eviction drive that started on Monday morning at Amir Hossain Road under Akhaura municipality continued till the same evening.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. During the drive, the law enforcers demolished at least 30 illegal shops on the railway land adjacent to Akhaura Rail Station.
Nazrul Islam, division estate officer of Dhaka division, said the illegal occupiers were served notices three days ago to shift their establishments, but they did not pay any heed.
