Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday arrested a man, against whom allegation was raised on Sunday for making threats to four Hindu families, with a shooter gun in Kalshimati village of Sadar upazila.
Rab-12 Company Commander SM Morshed Hasan said they also seized two bullets and a mobile phone from possession of the arrestee -- Raju Ahmed, 26, son of Asadul Haque, from Sahapara village in Bogura’s Sherpur upazila.
They later handed over Raju -- accused in a case filed with Sherpur Police Station on April 26 for crippling a youth and involved in different crimes including robbery, kidnapping and hijacking in the area -- to Bogura Sadar Police Station.
On May 19, Sushil Chandra Bhoumik, in a press conference at Bogura Press Club alleged that Raju recently threatened four Hindu families, including his, and asked them to leave their houses, the Rab commander added.
Kamruzzaman Mia, an inspector (investigation) of Bogura Sadar Police Station, said an arms case was filed yesterday with the police station after his arrest.
