Punish land grabbers

Ethnic people formed a human chain in front of Bangabandhu Mukto Mancho in the town yesterday demanding immediate arrest and punishment of the land grabbers who attacked four people including two journalists on Friday.

Over 500 ethnic minority people including women from different areas in Chapainawabganj, Rajshahi and Naogaon joined the programme under the banner of Jatiya Adivasi Parishad, Adivasi Mukti Morcha, Nachole Adivasi Academy, Kole Adivasi Samaj Unnayan Sangstha and Adivasi Chhatra Parishad.

Men of local businessman T Islam, who is trying to oust ethnic people to grab their land, attacked four people including two journalists on Friday, speakers said at a rally before the human chain.

They demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the perpetrators.

They also brought out a procession from Fire Service intersection in the town.
