Plea seeks ban on 'perverse expressions' in Coke campaigns
A Supreme Court lawyer today filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking its directive on the authorities concerned to stop use of “perverse expressions" in the advertisements of Coca-Cola.
Advocate Moniruzzaman Rana submitted the petition also praying to the HC to order the authorities stop the advertisements carrying expressions.
In the petition, Moniruzzaman challenged the legality of using some words like “Fafor”, “Para”, “Matha Nasto”, “Ghutibaj”, “Jinish” and “Asthir” in the advertisements of Coca-Cola, Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar told The Daily Star.
The advertisements of Coca-Cola are being published and broadcasted on both the print and electronic media, he said.
DAG Bashar also said the HC may hold hearing on the petition on next Sunday.
