A Manikganj court yesterday sentenced a youth to suffer life term and another to 10 years imprisonment in connection with a case for killing one of their friends in November, 2013.
After examining 18 witnesses, Manikganj District and Sessions Judge Mamtaz Begum delivered the verdict in presence of the convicts.
The lifer was identified as Rakib Noor Hridoy, 19, son of late Ayub Ali of Bandutia area under Manikganj municipality, while Mohammad Rakib, 19, son of Asaduzzaman Salam of the same area, was jailed for 10 years.
According to the case statement, Hridoy and Rakib had an altercation with slain Maruf Hassan Nayan, 19, son of Majedul Islam, over stealing Hridoy’s mobile phone set on November 26, 2013.
