NHA official arrested with bribe

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday arrested the executive engineer of National Housing Authority (NHA) in Dinajpur while he was taking bribe.

Abu Hena Ashiqur Rahman, deputy director of ACC in Dinajpur, said based on a complaint, they sent complainant Nazmatun Nahar to the office of NHA Executive Engineer Delwar Hossain around 9:00pm with partial bribe payment of Tk 60,000 for allotment of a land plot.

According to the complaint, Delwar had been delaying the allotment of the plot for the last one and a half years as Nazmatun Nahar did not pay him Tk 1.5 lakh bribe.

Delwar was caught red-handed after the complainant handed him the money and a case was filed in this connection, said ACC Assistant Director Ahsanul Kabir Polash.
