Murder accused flees from court
A murder case accused fled away from the premises of the District and Sessions Judges' Court yesterday.
The accused is Amanullah Khan, 18, son of Younus Khan of Nanguli village under Kawkhali upazila in the district.
Police were taking Amanullah to the courtroom from guardroom of Pirojpur District and Sessions Judge's Court around 11:45am, court sources said.
While going through the stairs, Amanullah managed to free his hand from the handcuff and fled away.
This correspondent called Court Inspector Md Mobashwer Ali to get his comment over the incident but the mobile got disconnected immediately after the call was made.
Amanullah is one of the ten named accused in a case for murder that occurred on August 26 this year over a land dispute at Nanguli village of Kawkhali upazila.
Police arrested Amanullah on September 2 and he remained in jail since then.
