UP member found dead in Bhola

Police today recovered the body of a Union Parishad member in Bhola Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 50, a member of Ward no 4 of Veduria Union Parishad under the upazila, reports our Barishal correspondent.

The body of the deceased was recovered from a canal near Heatnarhut area of Veduria union, said Sagir Mia, officer-in-charge of Bhola Model Police Station.

Police suspected Rafiqul Islam was stabbed to death.

The body has been sent to Bhola General Hospital for autopsy. No case was lodged till filing of this report.

Police are investing into the incident, the OC added.
