MD of Sylhet Gas Field Ltd found dead at own house

The managing director of Sylhet Gas Field Limited was found dead inside his residence in Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet this morning.
Police recovered the hanging body of Engineer Md Lutfur Rahman from his house around 11:30am, our Sylhet correspondent reports quoting Moinul Jakir, officer-in-charge of Jaintapur Police Station.
Lutfur and his butlers used to stay in the house as his family lived in Dhaka, said Mohammad Shah Alam, deputy director of the Sylhet Gas Field Limited.
Lutfur went back to his room around 7:00am today after seeing off two gas field officials who went to Sylhet from Dhaka yesterday, Shah Alam said quoting a butler working at the engineer’s residence.
As he did not show up to office during his regular hours, the officials of the gas field got concerned and went to his house in Haripur area and saw Lutfur’s body hanging from a ceiling fan, the official said.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy, OC Jakir said adding that police suspects Lutfur might have committed suicide.
The engineer who hails from Mymensingh joined the gas field as the managing director last year.
