Man’s throat-slit body found

Police recovered the throat-silt body of man from Mohammadpara area of Gopalganj town yesterday.

The deceased, Saiful Islam, 50, was son of Abdul Latif Mallik of Bhanga upazila in Faridpur.

Saiful, Khulna regional manager of a private company, used to live with his wife and three daughters in Kabirer Bottala area of Khulna city.

Saiful's wife Arifa Begum said her husband left the house on Thursday and they had a telephone conversation the following day, but since then his phone remained switched-off.

House owner Sahidul Islam said Saiful and an unidentified woman rented the flat on May 3.

The duo, posing themselves as husband and wife, came to the flat on Thursday stayed there that night.

But, sensing bad odour coming from the flat yesterday, neighbours informed the police, who recovered Saiful's throat-slit body from a bathroom of the flat, Shahidul added.
