A housewife was killed allegedly by her husband over family feud in Bhanga upazila of the district early yesterday.
The deceased, Setu Begum, 35, was wife of Jahurul Islam of Chanpotti village under Gharua union in the upazila.
Gharua Union Parishad Chairman Shafiuddin Mollah said Jahurul often quarrelled with Setu, daughter of Manik Khan of Chokighata village, over different family issues since their marriage.
At one stage of altercation early yesterday, Jahurul beat up Setu and then hacked her with a machete, leaving her critically injured.
Hearing cry for help, villagers rescued Setu and took her to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
The body was sent to morgue for autopsy, Officer in Charge of Kotwali Police Station AFM Nasim said.
