Males flee village to avoid arrest
A large number of males of Khadimpara village of Kulaura upazila under the district have fled away amid fear of arrest as unnamed people along with 11 named ones have been made accused in Emon Mia murder case.
“Emon, 28, son of Batir Mia of Khadimpara village, was stabbed to death and three others were injured in attacks following an altercation over a football game in Kulaura upazila on November 16. Batir filed a case with Kulaura Police Station against 11 named and some unnamed people,” said Md Shamim Musha, officer-in-charge of Kulaura Police Station.
"Many male people of this village left the area by launch in fear of arrest although no one has so far been arrested in connection with the incident," said Sanu Miah, a resident of Khadimpara village.
"We are in fear of arrest as unnamed people have been made accused," said Moinul Islam, another local.
However, Abu Yusuf, assistant superintendent of police in Moulvibazar, said there is nothing to fear as only the guilty people will face action after investigation.
