LGRD minister directs officials to identify risky school buildings

Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam today directed its officials to identify risky school buildings and ensure stern punishment of those responsible for irregularities during construction of PK Government Primary School in Barguna.

The school building will be also reconstructed, the minister said while talking to reporters at the Secretariat.

Mansura, a third-grader student, was killed and 10 others injured as a portion of ceiling of PK Government Primary School in Taltali Upazila fell on them yesterday.

Expressing sorrow, Tajul said on duty officials of Local Government Engineering Department have been assigned to identify the responsible people and also to bring them to books.
