Indigenous man killed by son

An indigenous man was killed allegedly by his son over a family feud in Bochaganj upazila of the district on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Tala Kisku, 55, of Hatrampur Pashchim Adivasipara.

Police arrested Badya Kisku, 35, on charge of killing his father.

Police said Tala Kisku and his son locked in an altercation over a family matter around 8:00pm on Saturday at their home. Badya started beating his father with a bamboo at one stage of the altercation.

He also stabbed his father with a knife, leaving him dead on the spot.

Badya also hit his mother as she came to rescue her husband.

Locals handed over Badya to police.

Police sent the body to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Abdur Rauf, Officer-in-Charge of Bochaganj Police Station.

Police produced Badya before a court here yesterday that sent him to Dinajpur jail.
