Indian HC inaugurates proposed solar plant
Construction work of proposed 4MW - 6MW solar power plant in the district was inaugurated yesterday.
High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla inaugurated the construction work as chief guest at a function organised at Dinajpur Circuit House. M Iqbalur Rahim, lawmaker of Dinajpur-3 and Whip of JS, was special guest.
IBD Solar Powertech Pvt Ltd of Bangladesh and Premier Solar Powertech Pvt Ltd of India will jointly implement the project. The plant will produce 4MW to 6MW power in the daytime.
“It is a great opportunity for us to work in renewable energy sector in Bangladesh and contribute to clean and green energy revolution to battle against climate change,” said IBD Solar Adviser Ezaz Al Qudrat A Mazid.
“The Dinajpur project will be Premier Solar's first project investment in Bangladesh,” he added.
Deputy Commissioner Md Mahmudul Alam, Superintendent of Police Syed Abu Sayem, officials of local government, delegates of Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce were present at the programme.
Earlier, the high commissioner inaugurated the construction of a community hall in Baba Loknath Temple area in the town.
